SSF's maintains six counties (‘amter’) in Southern Schleswig. The county boards and county secretariats organise SSF's cultural and social services in the region and serve the local SSF districts.

The counties are divided into 62 local associations (‘districts’), which are the popular core of SSF and the minority. They organise Danish life in the local communities with a wealth of different events and offers.
