The annual danish meetings.

The annual danish meetings

Once a year - at a weekend either at the end of May or early June - the Danish minority gathers for its annual meetings, in Danish so-called Årsmøde.

These meetings, which are organized by the SSF, are a variety of events, ranging from smaller community house meetings, BBQs and feasts for the entire family to large regional carnivals. About 40 local and regional meetings are attended by around about 20.000 people.

The participants range from all age groups and come from various Danish organizations, associations and institutions. They are accompanied by orchestras, bands and other cultural contributions.

Among the guests are many official representatives from Denmark. Government members and parliamentarians as well as representatives from the Danish regions, municipalities and organizations are invited to participate and deliver a speech during these events.

These annual meetings have been taking place since 1921.
