Visit Flensborghus
Flensborghus was built in 1725 using bricks from the demolished Duborg Castle, once the residence of Queen Margrethe I. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, including as a residence, orphanage, correctional facility, barracks, and later as a hotel and restaurant. Since 1920, it has been the cultural and administrative center of the Danish minority in Flensburg and Southern Schleswig.
Today, the Flensborghus complex houses the SSF’s General Secretariat, the youth organization SdU, the political party SSW, the European minority organization FUEN, as well as two of SSFs regional offices. It also includes conference and meeting facilities.
The SSF regularly welcomes visitor groups to provide insight into the Danish minority in Southern Schleswig, the SSF’s political work on minority issues, and the unique history of the border region.
