Meet the minority.

Meet the minority

Learning more about the Danish minority in Southern Schleswig and the Danish-German border region offers a unique opportunity to explore a history shaped by cultural diversity, identity, and the special role of the borderland in Europe. For associations, educational institutions, political organizations, and other interested groups, this can be a unique experience. The SSF offers various options that can be tailored to the needs and interests of each group.

Visit Flensborghus

As the main cultural organization of the Danish minority, the SSF regularly welcomes visitor groups to Flensborghus to provide insight into the history and present-day life of the Danish minority in Southern Schleswig. Since 1920, Flensborghus has served as the cultural and administrative center of the Danish minority in Southern Schleswig, making it the perfect setting for sharing its history.

Borderland Ambassadors

When visiting the border region, you might as well arrange a meeting with the Borderland Ambassadors. These are individuals who live their daily lives in the border region and are happy to share their personal stories about life in Southern-  or Northern Schleswig.
You can book a meeting with 3–5 Borderland Ambassadors and visit them in the border region. Alternatively, they can come out to your association or organization to share their experiences.
